Is that all you got?!?!

Hi, guys. How's your week so far??? Well, school went a lot better than I thought it would!! I wasn't shy at all and I met a few new people. It was fun. I mean, there's always those "oops" moments though. My car keys, coat, glasses, and books all got locked in the honors office so I had to get security to open it. The security guard is 95 yrs old, give-or-take. He had no clue what I was asking him and just stared at me for a while until i shouted- "Excuse me!! I need you to open the honors office, now!!"

Although my school day was fun and eventful, NOTHING beats last night. OMG wow. I decided to do a cycling class after months of not going. What was I thinking???!!! My friend, Ted, and I both signed up for bikes that were broken (we obviously didn't know this) so the instructor told us to take bikes 2 and 3. When we were all settled in, these two old hags walk in and completely bitch me and Ted out for stealing their bikes. First of all, they were late to class, and second of all, both of them will die lonely, old women! They forced us off the bikes and yanked them away. Don't get me wrong, though- I fought back. I don't care how old this lady is. You DON'T cross me and mess with my shit.

What ends up happening is the instructor gives me his bike and Ted steals somebody elses. haha oh Ted. I love that man. We always have push-up competitions and he usually kicks my ass. He's 70 yrs old and can do 55 push-ups!! I'd say that's pretty darn good. My average is usually 45-50 so I'm not too far behind.

But besides all my fights with the elderly, I've been going mad over Ani's Raw Food Kitchen. I LOVE this cookbook. It's amazing so you have to buy it. I made the vanilla mylk today and it was just cheerful. I was proud of myself for not eating all of the dates before making my milk. I only bought about 20 dates so I had enough left after devouring over half of them... THANK GOD. I had to use cashews instead of almonds because I was out of them, but I'm sure almonds would be dashing as well. Make sure you enlarge the picture so you can see the vanilla bean!!!! It makes me so happy!!

Here's the recipe:

Vanilla Mylk
1/2 cup raw cashews
1/2 cup pitted medjool dates
1 vanilla bean
pinch of sea salt
5 cups of water

Directions: Throw all that in the blender and mix until smooth. Keeps in the fridge for 4 days.

And that vanilla mylk looks great, I think I need to buy Ani's book!

OMG that story is sooo funny! What is it with old people being territorial at the gym? I have that same problem at my gym. Your milk looks awesome. My next milk adventure is going to be almond or cashew.

Hahahaha, I do wish we lived closer, it sounds like we would have a fabulous time at the gym...between you beating up old ladies, and me snickering at high school rivals, it would be awesome.

I made some stuff from Ani's book yesterday, but I just wasn't feeling the raw thing. Too bad, so sad.

i've never understood people who think they own publicly owned things just b/c they use them on a daily basis. i really get annoyed with people's sense of entitlement, and i think this character defect knows no age range. life is way too short to get pissy about a piece of exercise equipment.
(((sigh))) glad school is going well, and i appreciate the cashew mylk recipe. i'm always looking for new milk recipes to try.

Your milk sounds so good. I bet it tastes fabulous. What is it about some old people, they can be so crabby!! Are their panties in a bunch or something? I knew school would go good, you have such a great personality, to know you is to love you.

Wait a min....do you guys have "assigned bikes" like one would have "assigned seating" in school? How in the hell do they think they are THEIR bikes? And why didn't your instructor tell them to F off. As an instructor, this really makes me mad.

Hi Joanna, I just saw your comment about the lemonade award. I am giving it to you. It is the perfect award for you!! Especially since you inspired me to make my own juice!! It was hard for me to pick out one above the other to award to. But I realized that you are all too modest to take it without me awarding it. I am going to go change my post!!

Hahhaa. I hate when people take my bike!! But, it is fair game if you aren't there to defend it... :) I'm not as old as you describe, though...

How rude! I bet they were jealous because you're young and happy and they're old and bitter. Who gets so upset over a freakin' bike?

YAY for a fun and eventful first day at school!

Ugh, so rude! But on the bright side, the milk looks yummy :o)

I just bought ani's raw food. I will have a raw day yet! Uh, and I will go to the gym one of these days wearing my new praise seitan t-shirt.

I am glad school went well. I was just caching up on your explanation of your nervousness and shyness, and I am the same way. I take awhile to be comfortable around people and always wonder how people can be instantly bonding with each other. Anyway, glad it went well!

wow, sounds like some tension at the gym. at least you got a bike.

the mylk sounds really really good. i have a big container of those dates, but I'll probably just eat all of them plain because I can't control myself.
