I can't help myself!!!!!

Hi guys!!! I feel like I haven't posted in months, but that's an overstatement (I can't believe I just said that- is overstatement a word???). I have a feeling it's not, but whatever. Anyway, I've been really busy with watching movies lately. I could say that I've been busy with school, but that would be a lie haha I've just been going to movies, renting them, and buying them like crazy. I saw Twilight again on Thursday and it was better (and hotter) than I remember. Can someone please tell me that Edward Cullen is a story-book character and that he will never go out with me?? I can't seem to realize this yet, so I remain hopeful. Every night, I stay up til about 2 in the morning reading Twilight!! I told myself that I wouldn't turn into one of those "Twilight-obsessed dorks who have no life" but it's too late. I'm way past that already haha

In other news, I've decided to adapt a RAW lifestyle. My parents and sister are COMPLETELY against it and say I'm disgusting. I decided to quit using shampoo and my hair kind of looks crappy and gross. My mom says that I am giving off the impression that I don't care about my hygiene, but it's really that I care more about my hygiene. I've been putting chemicals in it my whole life, and I finally want to stop. I understand that the withdrawal symptoms from no-pooing will last about a week-2 months. That's fine with me though. I don't care what people say about my gross hair. I agree though- it does look pretty raggedy. I already dress like a homeless person to begin with, so the hair is just an added bonus.

I also got an award from my friend, Reeni over at Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice. She is one of my favorite people ever!! Reeni's always makin something delicious in the kitchen and her food always looks mouth-watering. She's just a really down-to-earth person and really good friend. If you like me, then you'll like her haha This award is called the Lemonade Award and I LOVE it!! This sounds so absurd, but I would always make poor man's lemonade when i would go to restaurants. I'd take 2 Splenda packets, 3 lemon halves, and water because I could get it for free!! I'm such a cheap bastard haha Anyway, thanks Reeni!!! You're a hoot!!

woah! Great job! I want to hear all about your raw lifestyle!
But what are you going to do about hygiene? Sometimes I use baking soda when I wash my hair, is that considered a chemical too?

Where have the muffins been? Don't give up the muffins!

Um, you know they make all natural and vegan shampoo, right? Also,
I've never tried this, but I do hear that you can dry wash your hair with raw oatmeal. Rub some into your scalp, like you're shampooing then brush out the oatmeal. It apparently sucks up the grease.

2 months sounds like a long time, I dont think I could wait that long, I think I would rather not know what Im putting on my hair, I was put off using hairspray after finding out its the fixing spray for pastel drawings!!
I am very impressed :) But I will miss the giant muffins :(

if you're going to have ragged hair, you should dred it :) actually i was considering dredding my hair, i think it would be fun! but i guess a certain style is required to pull it off, which i doubt i have.

I've heard of putting baby powder on your scalp. I don't know if powder is natural or what! But I'm proud of you for standing up for what you believe in.
I used to watch movies every night and now I don't. I miss it! I'm going to sign up for Netflix and play catch up.
A lot of us are waiting for our 'Edward' to come along, it will happen! And thanks for offering to go on a juice fast with me, your a sweetie!!

Good luck with the raw and with the no poo! I tried to no poo for a while. I think I lasted a week and I was scrubbing my scalp with baking soda every day because it looked dead. In the end I gave up (and I've had a violently itchy head ever since!).

And yay for getting an award!

Jo the Hippy Chick! There, that's your new blog name! :)

Good luck with the raw thing, I wish I could eat at least 50% raw... or even 25%!

Chemicals freak me out too, I've always wanted to make my own hair care and skin care products but the laziness prevents me from actually doing it! :)

PS: Yeast! Yeast, yeast yeast!! Are you laughing? Haha, it's just like tickling you! Yeast! Yeast, yeast!

Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate you reading my blog especially since you don't really eat the kind of food I make, anymore. But I realized long ago that it isn't just about the food!!

Hmm. Don't totally raw shampoos exist? Like olive oil perhaps? I think the raw lifestyle will be challenging but a good experience. Please keep us posted on how it goes.. :) I'll look for more raw foods to publish on YDF. :)

good luck and sticking it out through the hair thing. i've read that your natural oil product with adapt, but it can take a few months. i just don't know if i could do it - but i totally support those who try!

le'mme tell you - i don't wash my hair every day and i don't use "conventional" shampoo either. i've got some bar shampoo that i rub on my head - took my hair about 3 weeks to get used to this, and it's been smooth sailing since then. i love it the most!

very cool on go'n raw! i look forward to all the raw yummies! mmmmmmmmm! and hooray for lots of fun movies! movies are my fav - i could watch a few every day! ;)

Joanna, good luck on going raw! It definitely seems like an awesome way to eat.

I totally hear you on Twilight. I want him to be real....or maybe I want my husband to transform into Edward Cullen.

I have heard about this non-shampooing thing, but I have yet to really look into it. We will see....with starting student teaching tomorrow, I would think having raggedy hair for a months might give off the wrong impression?

I am v. excited to read along with your new raw adventure. How come no shampoo though? Even an all natural kind? Does that mean no soap either? Toothpaste? Sorry for all the questions!
